Glittery Star Ornament

This was a quick, easy Christmas craft.

Ella glued popsicle sticks together to form a star...
She was very good at this!
Once fairly dry, she lined the sticks with glue and sprinkled pretty, sparkly, silver glitter all over her star.
So pretty! Tomorrow we'll attach some string and hang it on the tree.

Cute little handmade ornament we'll have for years to come! :)

Glittery & Gold letter G

We tried to do the letter G today, but Ella wasn't feeling it at all. She loves gluing things down and I think this just wasn't specific enough for her. I mixed water, glue and gold glitter and she was to paint her G. She swiped her brush around for about 10 seconds and then was done.

I added more so it didn't look so bare.

Oh well..we'll keep trying!

Cupcake liner snowflakes

These were fun to make, as Ella's learning how to use scissors.

We folded a cupcake liner a couple times and cut marks into them to make our snowflakes.

Ella - proud of her work!

Added some glue and then the much loved glitter!!

Still drying, but they now look pretty hanging in the windows. White liners would have looked better, but yellow was the best I had.

Cute!

Gobble, gobble..

As I was making breakfast this morning, this is what I see...

Ella's talking away and playing with her brother.

Playing with him... He's usually very happy to be with Ella, laughing along with her, but here he looks less than amused!

They caught me with my camera.

Ella made a beautiful princess wand today. She colored the stars...

added the much loved glitter....

and it's currently drying, so I'll get the picture soon.

This morning we reviewed shapes and had time to make a quick shape turkey as we get excited for Nov 26!

Isn't he so cute?

I even made Ella heart shaped chicken nuggets for lunch today.

Do they look appetizing or what? :/ I got the recipe from here. The things I make never look as pretty as the pictures in the book. Lucky for us I have leftovers now in the freezer for another time...

But surprisingly Ella ate quite a few!

Ghosts!!

We made two different ghosts today.

Our glitter ghost. She just loves glitter. We used half the bottle on this! Ella was dumping it everywhere on the black paper!

But they are cute!

And our cotton ball ghost. Ella wasn't so sure about the texture of the cotton..
but enjoyed the glue as usual!

Ella also drew a little spider or two on the side of the ghost.

We went to story time at the library this morning and Ella wore her witch costume and William wore his chicken costume. Both kids ended up wearing their costumes all day...even to William's doctor appointment! They both looked so adorable!

We also went trick or treating tonight at the mall. I'm not sure any of us actually had any fun. It was way too crowded and it really just consisted of standing in a big huge line. Ella though, was at least fascinated by all the interesting people. It was an experience.

This is Ella earlier today being forced to stand so I could take a picture. Yeah...I guess forced pictures don't come out so well! Hopefully I'll get some better pictures Saturday before we head out around the neighborhood.

Art Expression

Art projects with a 2 year old don't always go well or the way I planned. I'm learning to be flexible and just let Ella have fun exploring with different mediums.

When my stamping activity didn't go as planned, I turned to glue knowing it would be a hit. Ella LOVES glue! She went crazy globbing it all over her paper. She loved it.

Then she sprinkled glitter...and went a little crazy with that too. :)

Our finished project.
