Little sweetie had his one year checkup two days ago and it didn't go very well. He was a crying mess as soon as we entered the doctor's office. It was pretty pathetic... He didn't want to lay down on the table and get measured, he didn't want to sit on the scale and get weighed, and he definitely didn't want the nurse to touch him. So you can imagine how shots went. :(
Here are his one year stats. He is growing like a weed!!
Length: 30 7/8" (90th%)
Weight: 25 lbs 13 oz (above the 75th%)
HC: 19 1/8 (95th%)
He's a big boy! :)
The shots have given him a 102 degree fever and has made him extremely whiny. He's not sleeping well during the day and just must overall feel really crummy. It's very hard on a mother when your child obviously feels very badly and there's nothing you can do. Helplessness is an awful feeling. Aside from giving him tylenol every four hours, he doesn't even seem to want to be held. :(
William had some fun playing at the gate on Wednesday before the effects of the shots hit him.
And my Ella, trying out her baby's stroller.
It's been two days of suffering from the after effects of the shots. I'm praying he sleeps well tonight and wakes a new boy!

What a year it's been! My little boy has grown so much! He's cruising around furniture slowly but steadily and is a pro with crawling; both army crawling and the traditional way. He is such a joy and brings his daddy, sister and me so much happiness. I have to wonder how we ever got along without him.

Happy, happy birthday my sweet boy!
Can't believe William turns one today. The past year has completely flown by. It feels like just yesterday that we were sitting at home relaxing before heading to the hospital the next morning.
William got a nice new ride on car... That he was nice enough to let Ella try out. :)
Here he is telling Ella it's his turn!
He LOVED it!!!
It was so cute to see him so excited and happy. :)
Happy birthday my wonderful little William. I love you soooo much!!!

Birthday Party!
We celebrated William's first year today with a small party. He had so much fun. :)
Though he wasn't a big fan of his cake. In fact, he looked downright disgusted with it.
After a little encouragement, he dug right in.
He thoroughly enjoyed smashing the heck out of his little cake and taking out a little aggression. :)
Then he thought the mess he made was pretty darn funny! :) He tasted a small bit of the cake, but really didn't want any more after that. Silly boy.
William needed a quick hose down after that.
Another highlight for William was playing with a microphone. He suctioned his little lips around the mike and made all sorts of funny sounds. It was so cute and so much fun! We need to get one of these little toys!
And...William's dump truck dirt cake...
worms in dirt cupcakes and smash cake...
and the flowers in cups of worms in dirt.
My cute little girl playing with some ribbon.
Ella helping William open his present.
Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa for letting us have the party at their house, and for everyone who came and helped us celebrate an exciting first year. Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us. :)

9:30 PM
So Ella's been staying up really late for the past week or so. We put her to bed around 8-8:30, but an hour or more later she's still in her room singing or talking away to her "friends." This is a big change as she was zonking out pretty quickly right after we left her, so I'm not sure what's up.
Tonight we left her at 8:20pm and at 9:30 she was still singing and talking, so we went up to check on her. THIS is what we found!!
Ella not only took off her night diaper, but got completely dressed (she insists I pick out her clothing the night before and lay them on her floor). And there she was sitting in her chair, light on, reading books.
Then she tells me, "Mommy, look what I did. I put diapers on all my friends!" And at least five of her "friends" indeed had diapers on.
How could I be mad at her? :) She is too cute and too funny to be mad at. :) She wouldn't let me take a diaper off one of her friends for her to put on either. I had to get a new one for her. I put her back in her jammies and tucked her back in bed and told her she needed to stay in bed or else I'd have to take her friends out of bed, including her Pink Baby. She replied with, "Then I wouldn't have anyone to play with." She's so smart!! :)

Our Trip To Pittsburgh
The highlight of our trip to Pittsburgh, to Ella, was the children's museum. Who would've thought an hour and a half wasn't enough time there??
She loved the playing with the water!
Kayaking...
This thing made some fun tinking noises when we dropped the pebbles into the holes.
Playing in Mister Roger's Neighborhood!
Ella was so happy playing at the museum!

Loves to Sing
How did I get the sweetest little girl? Ella spends her days singing. From the minute she wakes up in the morning, to the second before she falls asleep in bed at night, she's singing away. She's got the ABC song down pretty good, and Twinkle Twinkle, the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Old MacDonald are her current favorites. Today was definitely an Old MacDonald day. Not only was she singing the song all day long, but we had to read our Old MacDonald books at bedtime too. She's so sweet how she gets so into something. And I have to say, she has the sweetest little singing voice. I managed to get her singing the ABC's on video a couple weeks ago, so I hope to post it soon for everyone to enjoy. :)
I'm so thankful for both my little blessings.

Planting Flowers
I mentioned planting some flowers with Ella a few days ago and promised her we'd do it today. I tell ya, this girl doesn't forget a thing! Good thing it was a nice morning! :)
She set out all the cups and poured the dirt in each one.
Then added a few seeds to each cup.
I watered each cup, as Ella was more into dumping her bucket of water all over our budding tulips and the driveway. :)
Let's hope they grow!

Sledding in April!?
Ella saw the sled in the garage and before it made its way down to the basement for the spring/summer, Ella had to give William a little ride.
She learned it's much easier to pull on the linoleum, rather than the carpet. :)
Then Ella wanted in on the fun. :)
and William getting tickle tortured by daddy. He has THE BEST laugh. :)
