Brain Surgery Recovery

Today marks three weeks since I had brain surgery. Something I never thought I would ever have to go through. It was the scariest thing in my entire life, but so far I'm feeling pretty good. My head throbbing isn't happening which is wonderful, though I'm not exactly jumping around either. There have been some minor issues, but I'm surprised at how well I'm doing at only three weeks post op.

I'm weaning off my medications, though I still have restrictions; I can't drive until I am totally off my meds and have a return to a full range of motion in my neck (which I'm pretty close to!). I also still have a 10lb weight lifting restriction, but that will soon be lifted to 25lbs hopefully. I miss picking up my "babies" but they've been very understanding and accommodating.

Ella told daddy the other night at bedtime that she was praying most of all for mommy's healing. How sweet is she?

Only time will tell if my 6 hour long surgery has "cured" me of all my head pain. I'm praying hard, and also praying it heals my back/hip/sacroilliac pain that I was convinced was caused by my Chiari.

I see my doctor for my post op appointment in 2 1/2 weeks, so hopefully he says everything is looking good and I'm progressing well. Please keep praying for a full and complete recovery for me.

Because the past 8 months have been such a roller coaster I haven't been able to keep up with my blog, which really makes me sad. I love my blog and love looking back so easily on the early years with my children. I hope to make time to go back and fill in the blanks as to the fun we have managed to have in the past several months, and how the kids continue to grow and change.

I'll spare you the picture of my incision, just in case my mom sees this post. She refuses to look at it. :)

Keep up the prayers, for whoever reads this. It's very much appreciated.
