Ella had so much fun making Elmo earlier this morning that we did cookie monster this afternoon. She was really not feeling well, so this helped take her mind off things.. :(
She said "Cookie Monster funny" so that is what I wrote. How cute is she!?
Then we made these little sesame street puppets to play with tomorrow--she was so excited about them!
Hopefully the little sweet thing will be feeling 100 times better in the morning.

Elmo & Fall Trees
Ella woke with a yucky cold this morning and is definitely not feeling herself today. We managed to get some art in in the morning though.
Ella loooves Elmo so today we colored this Elmo together. I cut out the pieces, and Ella glued them on. She dictated a sentence to me and I wrote her sentence. (My handwriting, but I wrote sideways, so it looks like a 5 year old's. :))
We've been talking about and reading a lot of books about Fall and the leaves changing colors, so we made two different fall trees.
This one where she sponged red, orange and yellow onto the top of the tree.
Ella's finished tree.
And this one. I cut out a tree, she glued it down, then decorated it with a q-tip using the red, yellow and orange paint.
Finished fall tree #2.
Ella has fun doing these art crafts, but I just may be having a little more fun than she. :) I always wanted to be an art teacher.:)

5 Months Old!
My little pumpkin turned 5 months old yesterday! I didn't get to take any pictures yesterday, so today I was sure to do it.
The sign didn't stay in the picture long. I got too many pictures of him trying to eat it. :)
My happy, happy boy!
With the flash you can see his pretty blue eyes.
He looks like he's up to something here!
I know I say this with each month that passes, but I just can't believe William is 5 months old already. I don't know where the time has gone. William does so much now - he rolls, he laughs (constantly), he eats (and loves) his rice cereal, and he's using his hands to play with his toys really well too. He also looks like he's going take off when he's on his tummy, with his little legs underneath him. He doesn't seem to like to sit still at all. Is crawling in our near future?? Eeek!

Natural History Museum
We went to the Natural History Museum today and we had an... interesting time. :)
These are the two best pictures we got with the bad lighting. Ella enjoyed looking at all the animals. Unfortunately, she did not enjoy the planetarium. She went in with daddy and had to leave less than 5 minutes into it. She didn't like the darkness.. :)
We tried to get a picture of the three of us.. this was the best one. :)
William looked like a little boy again yesterday!
Such a happy baby. I can't keep my lips off of either of them.

My Little Artist
Ella and I are having a nice hour-hour and a half to ourselves in the morning while William naps, so we take advantage of our time alone to have our art time. We had so much fun!
We're still reinforcing our upper case letters, but I decided to start throwing in some lower case letters as well. Ella's been really into the letter H, so she made this today.
She knew the letter and sound right away, and really enjoyed stamping hearts, putting on heart stickers and also adding a few heart shaped jewels to her "little" h.
I love Fall, and was am so excited for all the Fall activities! We've been reading a lot of Fall and apple books, and this morning Ella made this apple tree. I didn't get any pictures of her making it unfortunately. But she glued on the tree, the leaf top, the grass, and made the apples with her finger. The sun is her palm, and she painted on the rays (with my help) with her finger.
She was having so much fun she wanted to paint more. She asked for a paintbrush, so I gave her that and also a car to make tracks and a few of her fisher price animals to make prints as well.
A couple days ago we did these art projects. My camera battery had died so I didn't get any pictures of her making these. :( She had sooo much fun with the paint dobbers!
We're going through the numbers (though my little smarty can identify, count and put in order all the numbers 1-10).
We also made this leaf suncatcher together. Ella laid on the pink, yellow and orange tissue paper squares and sprinkled on some pretty gold glitter. (I love my laminator!)
So, so, so much fun!

Ella is 27 months
tomorrow! That's two whole years plus three months! It really feels like the other day that she was five months...and now William turns five months in three days. She is growing and changing so much every day (they both are!) and I wish I could freeze time for just a bit.
My smiley girl.
Sweet smiles.
She's so good to her brother. Still loves hugging, kissing and sitting next to him. She keeps trying to get him to play with her, but he's not quite into "people" yet. :)
My babies.
Ella's also great to her babies. She walks around rocking them, burping them, and sits them in her lap -- just like she seems me do with William. It's so adorable.
Rocking her baby...
Making silly faces.
This face makes me soooo happy.
And there's her tongue! We see a lot of her tongue in her funny faces. :)
We went to the park this afternoon. She absolutely loves this playground. I don't think she stops running around (except to go on the swings or down the slides) the entire time we're there. She is so happy, the smile never leaves her face.
And of course her monkey has to come. He's now included in our prayers every night too. Isn't she sweet? She prays for her monkey!
And Ella up close and personal.
With every age that Ella turns, I say that is my favorite age. She just keeps getting more and more fun. I guess it just keeps getting better and better! :)

Letter A Alligator and more
We had such a fun day. Ella, William and I went to our first playgroup with a new group and had fun meeting new kids. After I told Ella this morning we were meeting new kids today she kept saying "Kids! Kids!" until we finally left. She was so excited!
Ella also decorated a fall leaf. She had fun with the dobbers.
Ella's finished fall leaf.
Then she colored her letter A...
Glued it down and added the googly eyes...
and the teeth...
and voila!
Pretty cute!

First Solids
We decided to slowly start solids with William, so today was a big day! William had his first taste of rice cereal. Mmm!
He even tried feeding himself... :)
His expressions were priceless.
Mom, WHY???
This one makes me laugh. He's pointing at daddy as if to say, hey, you havin' some too? :)
He looks really happy here yet...
he was not a fan of the cereal.
Is there a baby out there who loves the stuff when they first try it? Probably not.
I also realize these pictures with cereal all over his face are probably only cute to me. :) I think he's adorable even with cereal oozing out his mouth and down his chin.
